What is Concerts for Change?
Concerts for Change (www.ConcertsforChange.org) is a group organizing benefit concerts across the nation to support John Kerry and other Democrats and mobilize swing-state voters.

Where does the money go?
The first target for our proceeds from the concerts DNC and swing state Democratic campaign committees. We have already contributed more than $130,000 this way -- with more on the way. Additional proceeds will help fund swing state Democratic federal candidates, get-out-the-vote activities and media buys in the swing states. For further fundraising facts, click here.

How does it work?
We work with artists to customize events to meet their needs. We are able to sell tickets online and promote our shows to a growing network of people who have attended our events or visited our website. We also handle the back-end responsibilities related to the events, including compliance with campaign finance law.

Why is it important?
This money is critical. Fundraising directly to the Kerry campaign has ended because John Kerry accepted federal matching funds when he accepted the Democratic nomination on July 29. Concerts for Change is a vehicle that delivers targeted money to the coordinated swing state Democratic committees the places where the money is needed most.

Who is Concerts for Change?
Concerts for Change is the successor to Concerts for Kerry, a grassroots group that organized 41 concerts in 12 cities, raising $207,000 from more than 9,000 concertgoers. The group was an independent organization, but 100% of every ticket sale went directly to John Kerry for President.

Concerts for Change has attracted an array of talent including comedians Jack Black, David Cross, Sarah Silverman, Fred Armisen, Stella, and Kevin Nealon; DJ/musicians Moby, Mark Ronson, DJ Spooky, and DJ Rheika; jazz performers Savion Glover, Joshua Redman, Charlie Hunter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Brad Mehldau; indie rockers OK Go, Ted Leo, The Capitol Years, Bishop Allen, and Pink Martini; and singer-songwriters Grant Lee Phillips, Michelle Shocked, Duncan Sheik, John Doe, and David Poe.

Concerts for Change is partnered with Run Against Bush (www.runagainstbush.org). Together, we are raising money and awareness to support John Kerry, the DNC, and swing state Democratic campaigns. Both Concerts for Change and Run Against Bush are campaigns of the Running for Change PAC. Individuals can contribute up to $5,000 to the Running for Change PAC. These political contributions are not tax-deductible.
